The Los Angeles Film & Script Festival named “THE LOST TREASURE OF THE MAYANS” as BEST SCRIPT (Action/Adventure) while giving Honorable Mention to “DON’T EAT PAPER!”, “LIMPING TOWARDS BABYLON” and “PRAY WITH A BULLET” with the stage play “THE FRISCO FLASH” also got an Honorable Mention.

Festival Angaelica (based in Pasadena, CA) has named 4 of my full length scripts: “Don’t Eat Paper!”, “Limping Towards Babylon”, “Pray with a Bullet” and “The Lost Treasure of the Mayans” and 1 short screenplay “Hell Hath No Fury (Pi)” as Official Selections.

“Don’t Eat Paper!” is an Official Selection of Beverly Hills Film Festival which occurs in April 2025. My short script “Hell Hath No Fury (Pi)” is also an Official Selection at Hang onto Your Shorts Film Festival in Red Bank, NJ, which is also happening in April. Finally, Stage 32 has named “Limping Towards Babylon” as a Quarter-Finalist in the Comedy Feature Screenwriting Contest. It’s still in the running to move further up in placements.

And “THE LOST TREASURE OF THE MAYANS” is essentially a finalist as it is one of five Official Selections. On Feb. 19, 2025, a scene from the script was read by professional actors:

“The Lost Treasure of the Mayans” is an Official Selection of the Beaufort International Film Festival. (Beaufort is the lovely historic town near the beach resort of Hilton Head in South Carolina. Effectively however, in this case, it means the script is a Finalist. As part of the selection, about 5 pages of the script will be part of a reading by professional actors during the festival.

Even though this is a “local” festival, it attracts participants from around the country and the world:

My comedy script “Don’t Eat Paper!” is one of 10 Finalists at VisionFest in NYC.

Short Synopsis: Roy is obnoxiously in love with his therapist, Joanie, whose attempt to “fire” her client unintentionally leads to his death, but Roy’s ghost expects to maintain their “relationship”; however, a wild road-trip with Roy leads Joanie to discover her true mission in life.

After all, sometimes dying is the best therapy!

My full length PRAY WITH A BULLET and high concept short script (the devil is the private eye and Eve is the femme fatale) received the Writer Award (essentially Finalists by another name at the 2024 Los Angeles Neo Noir Novel,Film and Script Festival on December 3.
