One of my favorite things about the movie is Ben Wise’s score for the film. I transmitted to Ben my broad ideas about the music, i.e. that the “travel / walking up the moutain music” would be Celtic folk rock and that the “comet music” would be grand and symphonic and that the movie within a movie would have that romantic comedy sappy-ness, etc., etc., and he delivered what I wanted and added much more.
So, I was very pleased when the score won 3rd place in the Global Music Awards, but even more so when it, not the 1st place winner, was named the “Fan Favorite” in the score category.
I hadn’t even realized that there was going to be an online vote so this happened without me trying to marshal friends to vote for it. It was purely spontaneous voting by a bunch of strangers. So congratulations Ben, who also performed all instruments except for the mandolin, which was played by Brett Pearsons.
